My name is Kalon Johnson from Thibodaux, Louisiana and I am a graduate of Nicholls State University. I am a Saltwater Tournament Angler (Kayak) and my passion is chasing Redfish in the marsh. Being able to see those beautiful fish tailing on the flats and then stalking them down is an amazing feeling!! Knowing as you’re approaching that fish, you have about 2 chances to make a cast, present the lure and then set the hook. It is a rush I just cannot explain. I have been saltwater fishing since I was about 12 years old and I’ve been hooked ever since. There is just something about being on the water with no worries. It’s a place to where you can dig deep into yourself, discover things you may have not yet discovered and find peace. Although my passion is Redfish, I also enjoy fishing for Speckled Trout and I enjoy fishing out both a kayak and boat. I have met so many great people by participating in tournaments, seminars and just attending different events and it forms life long friendships. My love for the sport of fishing runs deep in my heart and soul. For me, it’s not a hobby or something I do for fun. It is who I am and a way of life. Being a Pro Angler for a number of different companies, I also view the sport of fishing from a business aspect. Making sure I represent myself in a professional manner is very important to me because not only do I respect myself but I am representing those companies as well. I hope I see you on the water soon!
